Mystic Aquarium

Multiple whales have died after being relocated.

In 2021, Marineland moved five whales to Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut.

Two of those whales died within a year of the move, and the third died two years after the transfer.

Mystic said the whales had pre-existing conditions, while Marineland said they were healthy when they left.

Standouts include the Port of Call, the Shipwright's Daughter, Oyster Club, and Nana's Bakery and Pizza.

The Coastal Village also offers new boutique hotels, schooner cruises, the Mystic Aquarium, and the 19-acre Mystic Seaport Museum.

Visitors can reach its walkable downtown by Amtrak about two hours from Boston or New York City.

Now to sports.

We know it's very stressful.

We also know that when Marineland was allowed to ship five whales to Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut in 2020, Two of those whales died very quickly after transport, and the third died later on as well.

So we know that transport can not just be dangerous, but also potentially lethal.

So I think that's all really a strong argument for just not allowing these whales and tanks in the first place.

The Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut, has released Peanut the Seal, a young harbor seal it helped to rescue back to the ocean.

Peanut was seen on the New Hampshire coast by the aquarium's partner, Seacoast Science Center.

They took Peanut to the Mystic Aquarium after determining that Peanut was in poor health and had signs of infection around her mouth.

The Mystic Aquarium worked to rehab Peanut.

And over the weeks, she gained 20 pounds and reached a healthy enough condition to return to the ocean.

Sarah Callen, animal rescue program manager for the Mystic Aquarium, said, quote, when a stranded animal receives timely intervention and specialized rehabilitation care.

Our team is thrilled to see her return to the ocean today, and we're grateful to our partners at Seacoast Science Center for getting her the help she needed, end quote.

I made $3.65 an hour and did the gruntiest of the grunt work, and still liked it, so figured maybe I was on the right path.

Um, after college, I was fortunate to get hired at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, um, as a marine animal trainer.

Um, I also worked at SeaWorld in Florida and Brookfield Zoo with marine mammals.

At that point, the behavior management was starting to become a thing in zoos, where they were starting to work with animals that were not just elephants or bird shows or marine animals.
