Good.

"Míope".

Uh, uh, short, uh, vision.

Mm.

They can see again.

But as a pediatric ophthalmologist, I want parents to understand that myopia is not only about the glasses prescription.

Myopia is also about the eye growing too long.

That's what we call axial elongation.

And when the eye grows longer, the retina and other structures inside the eye are stretched.

That doesn't make it invalid.

But it does matter for how we interpret it.

Myopia is influenced by genetics.

And when I talk about regulation, I'm referring mostly to your nervous system.

And I would also add what comes before the nervous system, at least in our human development is the fluid body that includes like our cerebral spinal fluid our fluid in the the connective tissue the fascia obviously the blood and why is it when we're born we're 90 fluid and as we age that fluid dries up and if we bring in you know just the eyes for a minute cataracts floaters dry eye Myopia, all of these conditions are partly due to the fact that our eyes are drying out.

Our body is drying out.

So the nervous system is overwrought.

On an airplane, a cowboy, played by John Belushi, learns that he might have issues with his sight thanks to the kindness of a stranger, played by her, Clayburgh.

I think she's fine in this one.

That people had on my Facebook live my podcasts and so on and so that's the basis of the book and the number one question that people asked was what do I do with my eye floaters number two question was how do I reverse cataracts naturally number three.

Myopia and astigmatism went with that.

And then macular degeneration.

And so that's the impetus of the book.

Yeah.

Shortsightedness is a huge factor here.

I think political policy has never been renowned for thinking really too far ahead.

Would you say that's true? [laughs]

the single unifying factor on a global scale at this point.

Because everywhere we are all agreeing, whether people believe in climate change or they don't believe in climate change, we are seeing weird weather.

That's the oath that we take.

Myopia and a progressive prescription in a young child should be seen exactly the same way.

This is how we should view every child who has a disease that we can stop and slow down.

And so that would be the biggest mindset shift, is that it's no longer an option.

Mercy, mercy, mercy.

You ever heard of the word myopia? Myopia means that you can see things close, but you can't see things far away.

We call it being nearsighted.

But sometimes when you're so, so nearsighted, you're actually legally blind.
