My Wish

There's just no substitute for kindness and basic human goodness.

I'll leave you with a few words from one more of my favorites, My Wish, by Jeffrey Steele and Steve Robson and recorded by Rascal Flatts.

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to.

Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small.

If you've ever had a child, or goodness knows, a grandchild, or even a kid brother, a good friend, you've wished this for them.

Yeah.

And then 10 minutes later, I walk out and see them go perform My Wish, and I'm like, "This is crazy."

And you're, like, gagged by, like, your friend.

Yeah.

The boys were like, "We're not doing a 'Hannah Montana' song." Like they were so, you know, tough.

Like, "We're not doing 'Hannah Montana.'" And so what the vote ended up winning was "My Wish" by the Rascal Flatts.

So my eighth grade graduation song, I wanted it to be from the "Hannah Montana" movie.

I have the chills telling this story.

Um, "The Climb." But what ended up being the song was a Rascal Flatts song, "My Wish." Fast-forward, 'cause I'm what, 15 there? Fast-forward 15 years later at 30 years old, my first dance wedding song was a Rascal Flatts song from the "Hannah Montana" movie.

Are you guys picking up what I'm putting down? Like this is a full circle moment.

Wanted the "Hannah Montana" movie, got the Rascal Flatts.
