Nick ordered a retro tap because all the cool kids are doing it and they want it to fit in, but they were wondering what exactly adds to a setup using a PS2 Slim with a heap of wires and splitters.

The My Life in Gaming video from a few years ago suggests that approach and it's what they've been using.

They never power on more than one console at a time, but even when they did for a minute by accident, it didn't seem to cause any noticeable issues, which seems right because the PS2 Slim brick could handle significantly more amps than two retro consoles would draw.

What exactly is the added value of hooking up the retro tap between the PS2 slim brick and the consoles besides wire management? Safety, power, signal integrity, and more protection against any kind of interference.

My Life in Gaming recently posted a video that showed all the major updates to the analog 3D.

Stuff like the progressive rendering of 480i, the HDR differences, and when the new horizontal upscaling feature is actually a benefit to you.

And it was a pretty cool summary of all the bigger features that people might have been interested in ever since their original launch video, which I put in here as well in case anybody's interested.

I was going to write this post immediately when it came out, and I just forgot.

But this was pretty cool.

It's embarrassing, the time and money I put into that.

But I watched My Life in Gaming, and they were like, how do you upscale old school consoles? I went all in, man.

There's this woman who hand-makes custom cables and she is she is amazing i can't recall the name because i haven't used her for a while but she she hand makes it all and yeah they're the best ones like out there so and she only does them in small batches so it's like i'd have to wait for like you know months for uh another saturn one to come up a saturn braided scarf cable you know so yeah but it's worked out

Favorite 2600 game is a lot of people would say maybe Yars Revenge, Warlords maybe.
