My Blue Tears

This is not a bad thing.

I wrote one song on this album when I was a girl, the one that I do with Simon Le Bon called My Blue Tears.

By the way, she does this one on, oh gosh, it's the Code of Many Colors record is where that one comes from.

She goes on to say, one day, Carl heard me singing that song, and he said, now that's a good song.

When I got ready to do Rockstar, something told me to do it.

So here we go.

Here's My Blue Tears, Dolly Parton, and Simon Le Bon.

We learned this week that Dolly died, and I've been thinking about what song to play for her.

My Blue Tears is a tune that Dolly wrote early in her career.

It's a beautiful song and one I've always loved.

And back in 2015, when I was with John Reilly and Friends, we recorded it in Los Angeles with Becky Stark singing it for Dolly, John Reilly and Friends, My Blue Tears.

But, um, anyhow, I, I just love...

And a lot of the songs I write, like for instance, on My Blue Tears, a song that's on this album that I wrote many years ago, and we can play that if you want to after this, but, um- I, I wrote this song, and it really uses a lot of the old English style, like, "Fly ye away from my window, fly ye as far," like the ye's and the ye's.

It sounds old-timey.

So I had recorded this song numerous times, but some of my songs I like so well, I think, "Well, they just seem to fit here and fit there," so it kinda lended itself to that Irish, um, feel.

So I was trying to write songs that would make good records.

And, uh, when I first did this one, it was more uptempo, but on this version of it, I slowed it down.
