Muskegon River

Okay.

And severe flooding in the Muskegon River.

Oh, yeah, I remember that.

Excuse me.

And then we went to down towards the

Muskegon River mouth.

So then I was

like wising up,

I mean, we're out on Lake Michigan.

We're up there on the Muskegon river.

I got fresh water all around me.

I can't imagine anybody fighting or wanting our water.

You know, you're probably right.

When you see the COs out there, I think I was, I was in the swamp, in the Muskegon River bottom, and, um, CO John Jursich, um, walked down, and he, he, uh, he knows where I hunted.

So he came up and he's like, "Hey, Skeet, I gotta see your license." And I'm like, "Yeah, man." So we're sitting there, and he's like, "All right.

Hold on.

I mean, I'm, I'm a sentimental dude.

I like, I like tradition.

I mean, I've got here in my basement, I've got butt ends of logs that were pirated up the Muskegon River, you know, that have brands on them.

You know, I like that.

So we start this story with three people who are setting out for what is supposed to be a fun, relaxing summer afternoon in Western Michigan.

It's a Tuesday, and 28-year-old cousins, Jasmine Hawk and Sarah Vida, decide to take Sarah's nine-year-old son, Kayden, tubing with them down the Muskegon River.

It's not white water like you were doing or anything.

[laughs] We weren't doing white water, but it was fast.

Right.

So Jasmine, Sarah, and Kayden manage to get around the first few log jams, but eventually they come to another very difficult log jam, and this time they make it through, but their tubes, not so lucky.

They were enjoying a day of tubing on the Muskegon River when their tubes were all punctured by logs.

The rafts they were on broke, leaving them stranded along the Muskegon River.

So that was exciting.

This is a community that we also have the Muskegon River that runs right through it.

We have several, several lakes.

The city blows up between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
