Music licensing

a lot of snakiness in in rights and music stuff specifically especially when it comes to music producers and what they're trying to get over um like the people who actually make music yeah

no music rights is a massive huge damn minefield and it's still they're still trying since a digital it was all right until the digital thing happened and then that just blew it up so that whole thing now about who owns what and who's getting this and who's getting that.

It's just a massive mess.

They are slowly churning through it.

And about two, three years ago, I would use music regularly in my radio program on the radio, as well as the podcast.

And I started getting these emails from various music licensing companies telling me that I did not have approval and that I would have to pay them.

And if you notice and you listen to a lot of podcasts, none of them use music or at least commercial music because they don't want to have to pay royalties for using something maybe once, maybe a few times.

And it's ridiculous.
