Yeah.

And having something th- cross-platform that is gonna be part of, like, the whole Muse Score and everything, love it or hate it, it's gonna be good for anybody who's already on Windows or on a Mac being able to move over to Linux, and that's the important thing.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

So for me, I use MIDI.

And there are other ways, if you use MuseScore, there are solutions where, I've seen solutions rather, that would make NVDA and other screen readers like it you know, tell you quarter note or, you know, eighth note or whole note holding for how many beats, how many bars, et cetera, et cetera.

So, yeah, there are ways to navigate.

And of course there's Braille.

And so the point was that by moving through things quickly you're going to make something and then you're going to get feedback on it so that you're going to be able to revise it quicker and version up level up quicker than everybody else instead of holding on to this like trial one and being a perfectionist and like doing all these things and then months go by and you finally present it to somebody and then you get feedback so late and then you run out of time to revise and so with notation softwares i think it helps expedite the process of composing and then hearing it played back to you or having someone else's input because it takes a shorter amount of time to write the notes down and then revising it and making a better version.

But you cannot rely on playback too much because obviously at least right now our technology and midi doesn't allow for a perfect representation of what music is in real life and I think young composers fall into the trap of oh this sounds really good in MuseScore this sounds really good in Sibelius so I think this will sound good in real life and then they realize it's not even audible because the orchestration wasn't right for what works in real life so I think um, just learning about orchestration, just education paired with technology is the integral part instead of just relying on technology.

But yeah, overall, I'm very, very optimistic.

That's nice.

We could speculate.

We know at some point MuseScore Studio 5 is going to come out and they've laid the groundwork for a lot of improvements in this area.

To the extent that it is going to be a staff pad replacement, who knows? I have no information, but you can go to the Scoring Notes website where we did cover recently some of the personnel changes at Muse Group, specifically to MuseScore Studio.

And a lot of the team that did work on MuseScore Studio is no longer there.

Again, not to say that other capable folks won't take their place.

But David William Hearn, to the best of my knowledge, is no longer involved with the company, with the product.

And then I'll go to, like, I just use MuseScore.

Mm-hmm.

And then I'll like plug in the melody line, let's say on a trumpet.

And so I haven't really found, um, what I'm, what I would use if I were going to do it today.

Yeah, and you know, I, I haven't experimented with some of the other things out there, but I did wanna mention that I feel like, I think it's called Musescore- Um, MuseScore Studio.

That must be very user friendly, because I have had some students who wanted to notate something, we didn't have time to maybe do it in the lesson with my program, so I've recommended MuseScore to other students, and the next week, I've had them show up with a score in their hand.

So it's not something I've ever helped them with, but if there are teachers out there that are looking for, "What can I recommend to my students?" I feel confident saying start them with maybe MuseScore, because, um, I've had success and I've had students come back with a score in their hand that they were really proud of.
