Muscle of Love

Yeah, it's such a cool thing.

And then I think we're talking about Dennis' bass playing, and Muscle of Love has always been my favorite Alice Cooper song because I love that bass line.

Yeah.

Yeah, I love all that business at the end where it's the do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-

I have, in fact.

I finished Muscle of Love this morning.

Oh, good.

Fantastic.

Yeah.

I finished my Muscle of Love this morning, too.

Yeah.

So we are here to round out the month of

I'll just move aside.

Alice Cooper, the band, put out this album in 1973 called Muscle of Love.

And the track from it, Muscle of Love, it was a single, and it's the one we're going to be talking about today.

Yeah, 1973.

Attention.

This carton contains one, one, Alice Cooper, Muscle of Love.

That's funny.

Looks like a brown paper bag, doesn't it? Yes.

Yeah.

Muscle of Love.

Feed My Frankenstein.

Great song.

Is, that was the bread and butter for me.

So albums like Muscle of Love and, and Love It to Death, th- that's my favorite little area.

That, um, and I can't think of what the blackout ones are called now.

Um-

Hmm.

Um, next up, we're gonna do Muscle of Love.

Okay.

I don't even know if it was a single.

I don't care.

It's, the song is called Muscle of Love.

We've gotta do that before we decide, really put a pin on what the last song is gonna be to close out-

Mm-hmm

Mm-hmm.

And then Muscle of Love was the last record they did in '73, and I think they were totally burned out from the Billion Dollar Babies tour, which was like, you know, um- 200 dates in a year or something-

Wow

...

Yeah.

Um, and I think, you know, the records they did over the last, like, 10 years, the, the original group has come in and, like, done a couple songs, or they've gotten together and, like, played, like, one song on the record or something, and they've, you know, they're in good standing.

And, and so I think for whatever reason, I don't know particularly why, they were like, "Let's, let's get the original band together and make another record," like the first full record since Muscle of Love, which was '73.

So I think it had been 53 years.

Yeah, and then they're firmly in the grips of the major label Music Grinder for the next few years, putting out four records in three years.

Killer is 71, School's Out, 72, Billion Dollar Babies is 73, as well as Muscle of Love that year, too.

I wonder

what that's referring

You know, it had to have been birthday money, because it was, we, I remember it was summertime when we went, and I picked up Heaven Tonight.

I got the original version of, which I still have to this day, of Muscle of Love, and if you're an Alice Cooper fan, you understand.

That came in the box.

I, you know.
