And, um, uh, the Murray Black Collection in Victoria was one of the first ones to be, uh, repatriated, I think is the word.

And so that went back to the Murray River.

There've been others where the time distance between the, uh, the, the current population of descendants and the, the human remains that have been unearthed is so great that some people have argued that, well, these are not the immediate or even distant ancestors of the people who are there now, um, and so on.

But that hasn't washed, so, um, the Kow Swamp, K-O-W, Kow Swamp skulls, which were, uh, an extraordinary find in Victoria, um, they've, they've gone back against much protest from archeologists or some.

Uh, the women's triple cranial lesions, that is women who had been beaten severely in the head at least three times, um, were five times more frequent than those of males.

But the, the figures varied a lot regionally.

The lower Murray River, which is not far from where I'm sitting in the south of the continent, the number of lesions suggesting a violent death or certainly pre-death injury was almost half the population of both men and women in the graves.

Wow.

Because, yes, how do you care? We care for those who are homeless.

I mean, we started an inland prevention drowning strategy because we're right on the Murray River and we've had some drownings, so we've had to intervene in that.

So that's part of being a caring community.
