He put the band on hiatus shortly after this incident and went to rehab.

He then returned with Car Button Cloth in 1996, which was basically entirely recorded by him with musicians called Bill Gibson on bass and Patrick Murphy, a.k.a. Murph from Dinosaur Junior.

He's on drums.

So it's Jay Maskis is the guitarist and vocalist.

There's Lou Barlow on bass and somebody named Murph just on drums.

But Maskis reportedly used the same vintage amp that he used back in the mid-1980s to capture a raw sound.

God, he really hits the drums pretty profoundly.
