Murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana

Um, I think the problem that we've been seeing over time, though, is that even places that we do perceive as safe have become, um, unsafe.

Um, another major flashpoint was a few years ago where, um, a young South African woman, uh, named Uyinene had gone to the post office and was kidnapped and abducted and killed at a post office.

Nobody expects to go to a post office and be murdered, but that's what happened, and I think that is why there is a growing, um, unhappiness with the lack of change that South African women are seeing.

But they're also unhappy with the r- the kind of response from the government.
