Murder of Sydney Loofe

So ladies, gentlemen, mortals, buckle up because we are... we're diving into the Vampires Cult.

So this starts with a young girl named Sydney, Sydney Loofe.

She is a beautiful young girl, blonde, fresh-faced.

She is a cashier at Menards, and this is in Nebraska, a very small town in Nebraska.

Um, so let's go ahead and start a few years prior to this.

So our cast of characters, let's talk about that.

So we have Sydney Loofe.

Um, we also have a, another girl, another young girl named Bailey Boswell.

And before we talk about the people who took her life, we need to spend some time with the young woman they took from this world.

Because if we start with the killers, we're turning Sidney Loof into a plot point rather than into a person.

And she was very much a person and deeply loved.

She was born on August 21st, 1993 in Broken Bow, Nebraska.

Now, by the evening of the 16th, they had reported her missing to the Lincoln Police Department.

And the search that would follow would consume the next three weeks of their lives, and it would leave a permanent mark on the Nebraska town that had watched Sidney grow up.

Now, if Sidney Loof's story is one of relative stability, loving family, rooted in small-town Nebraska, Aubrey Trail's life sits at the opposite end of that spectrum.

Aubrey was born in 1967, and look, details of his early life are cloudy, but what is clear is that by the age of 17, he was already in serious trouble with the law.

Yeah, and you know, I only have this little brief window of knowledge about Auburn Trail, right? Because...

from the time he met up with Bailey to the aftermath of the murder of Sidney Loof, you know, a lot of that is documented in, like, FBI interrogations, FBI investigation, police investigation, interviews with plenty of witnesses, right? But that's a brief window of Aubrey Trail's life.

So I don't, you know, I think that he... was doing this type of stuff with these young women for much longer than I can prove, right? And because the thing about Aubrey is that he was always on the road.

The only way you can really know where Aubrey was at any given time, as far as I can tell at least, is by prison records.
