And I figured out that it actually ties into a thing that an idea I was just tossing around on blue sky like a couple of months ago, which is maternal chimerism.

where if you have had a kid, which I have not, but Murr has, you have fragments of tissue in you or DNA that are not yours.

Murr is still wandering around with bits of her kid in her.

And which, you know, Good for her.

But the thing is that if you're a human and you have an elven kid, do those fragments provide you with extended lifespan? Like, does it give you a longevity boost? And I thought, okay, if it does, so, okay, you're going to have like maternal tourism where human women are going to be, you know, going through the elven empire to get knocked up so that they get another 20 years or so.

But it has to be a romance because it's me.

So it is the epic love story between one dude who is basically trying to drink himself into the grave and the woman sent to clean up his paperwork, which he has not filed in like 30 years.

And also it had to be about elves because your husband, Murr, at dinner one night said something about, you know, Tolkien elves and whatnot, or elves being all noble and aloof and regal.
