Munafiq

Inwardly, they struggled with jealousy and disbelief.

They became known as the Munafiqun, the hypocrites, people whose tongues said, we believe, while their hearts turned elsewhere.

Their influence would at times prove dangerous, especially in moments of fear or defeat, when their whispers could shake the resolve of others.

The Jewish tribes, too, presented complex challenges.

What promise are they referring to? What comes before victory, guys? Struggle.

The Munafiqun are saying, Allah promised us victory.

Look, it's a lie.

The believers are saying, Allah promised struggle.

The opposite, who are the people who fluctuate a lot? Today they're Muslim, tomorrow they're kafir.

Day after tomorrow they're with you, the day after that they're against you.

Who are these people? Munafiqun.

Is there an ayah that says they change too much? Where's the ayah? These guys, they switch.

Now, what is the third type of people? Hmm? Hypocrite.

What is hypocrite in Arabic? Munafiq.

Now, with Munafiq...

He's a kaf- So he's a kafir.

Munafiq is also a kafir.

The zindiq says he's a Muslim.

The munafiq also says he's a Muslim.

Lower than the mushrikin.

So worse situation than the mushrikin.

Munafiquna fi-d-darki l-asfali min an-nar.

Wa lan tajida lahum naseera.
