So what happens is, as you rightly pointed out, UPSC main stage is just nine days away, starting from 21st of August.

And what happens in that phase is that in five days, there are more than nine exams that students write six hours per day.

That is very, very competitive, right? Now what happens, since this is the second stage of examination, where around 15,000 to 18,000 students appear, by nature, if the feedback is not given regularly, the student tend to practice more MCQs, they prepare more for prelims, rendering themselves less ready for mains examination.

That was the actually first problem like you pointed out Dhruv that we started solving at Supercalam that instead of MCQ and academic queries, what is that one hero factor or one major problem that students are facing.

... to basically an MCQ, which is you get one, two, three, four, and that's it-

... right? Like, you're not being graded necessarily for, um, steps.

Interesting.

But that's been the biggest debate, right? Like, while formal schooling, where a child is, uh, today, you know, having the 11th grade, 12th grade, uh, will teach you more of reasoning and the steps that you talked about.

And in fact, uh, you're told that missing a step means that, you know, you're gonna lose marks, whereas you have a parallel system running, which is extensively focusing on your speed and anything to do with your MCQ level of understanding.

So both don't seem to meet, which means the expense of education is much higher, and a parent has to think about both of these running parallelly.

Yeah, break it down for us.

We're going to run through 10 multiple choice questions, or MCQs, and for each one, we'll give you a real-world hook, the question, and the options.

And we'll give you, you know, a couple seconds to actually think about your answer.

And then comes the reveal.

They will have dedicated time in wet labs and dry labs and also on simulators.

And at the end of all that they'll get an MCQ exam to make sure that they paid attention, and a certificate to prove to, uh, somebody in their, um, their unit that they actually did something useful.

Because the sad thing is, as you well know, in, uh, in Europe particularly, an awful lot of countries really don't provide adequate surgical training or any at all.

And we initiated, this is now gonna be our sixth iteration, uh, this year.

Uh, we, I was involved with, uh, reviewing MCQ questions yesterday evening, and one thing we've discovered, which I'm sure you're well aware of, is when you're setting MCQ questions, you've got to have somebody there whose first language is English.
