Mullvad specifically is the best in my opinion.

If you like jam bands or live music in general, it offers recordings and music streamed live from concerts, video and audio.

Um, if you guys have listened to this podcast for a while, it's not uncommon for us to get some positive developments, but normally there's also some drawbacks.

So we're gonna start with Mullvad, who has introduced multi-hop modes.

I've seen people a bit confused about it.

So multi-hop is the concept where you go through two VPN servers before you finally hit your websites.

It does reduce speeds, and it's something that Mullvad has, but it's a pretty common feature across VPN providers.

The actually new thing here is the mode in which you activate to start utilizing multi-hop.

So there's when needed, always, and never.

It looks like a location icon with some magic symbols around it.

I don't have to reauthenticate, uh, over and over, and that's also nice if you have more devices.

And I typically I tunnel through a VPN like Mullvad, um, which runs on the router itself.

So I tunnel the traffic or through my own VPN where, where I do all the logging.

So sometimes it looks like this.

There's, um, router on the Wi-Fi.

On top of that there's, uh, something like Mullvad, and on top of that it's my, my own VPN that, uh, does the, uh, out-of-band, uh, tap at home.

You remember when, when Snowden first started doing talks and he would show up like super fucking grainy.

I mean, Murphy from Easy Optouts even said, "I'm personally a little surprised the Hide My Email issue ever even made it into production." I also think that the Private Relay issue is something that has been this recurring issue with Apple that I'm quite annoyed about too, is Apple just clearly does not kind of care whatsoever about users' IP-based protection.

Even if Private Relay properly tunneled all of your Safari traffic, why is it only in Safari? Like why can't they enable it system-wide? And then even if you get a system-wide VPN, let's say you go with Mullvad or you go with Obscura or you go with IVPN, Windscribe, Proton, whichever VPN you pick, none of them right now in 2026 can actually guarantee that 100% of your web traffic on an iPhone actually goes through the VPN tunnel because Apple still does these random ass exclusions for your web traffic.

So this is something that people don't really know about or think about, and it's something that I think Apple really needs to take seriously.

Apple is trying to sell this idea that we deliver this much privacy and security to you, and actually I would say that a lot of it's true.
