Mulgore

So it adds this moment of friction where you chat.

And so, like, yeah, I put down a fire somewhere, uh, in Mulgore, just to get my, like, get a buff, and someone came down, was like, "How do you do, fellow tauren?" I was like, "Hey, bud.

How's it going?" The problem with it is it's playing controller, and I have...

That's why I got a portable, or not a portable, but a wireless keyboard because I felt very an- antisocial playing.

Yeah, something like that.

So, you know, they, like, that stuff is kind of a thing, and maybe they're doing that a little bit with WoW, where like, "Yeah, I'm playing the beta.

I know what to expect." And then like, "Oh, no." There's actually a quest in Mulgore where you get to, uh, scratch other, scratch, like, the itch on other tauren, you know? [laughs]

[laughs] It's called grooming.

Yeah.

I'm in Mulgore.

I shouldn't have to walk.

It shouldn't be a journey to the center of the earth to light a stick on

Like, I've always been the mage who, like, blink then mount so that I get that extra blink in before I do the thing.

And I mean, it becomes even more important in a game where you can't fly, right? Uh, but here, low-level tauren going around Mulgore, it's, it is cool.

Like, it's not a bad thing to go faster.

I'm not gonna poo-poo that.

... giant tauren toes back and forth on this platform, trying not to fall off and trying not to drop the stacks.

So I don't know, man.

Like, it took what could've been a cool atmospheric, like, looking off on the bluffs, enjoying the sunrise Mulgore experience into this, like, nightmare optimization thing.

And that's just how my brain works with movement in this game.

Oh, okay.

So I only saw very light changes, and they were all in line with, with regular Mulgore stuff.

Like, there was nothing-

Yeah, I noticed that too.

Mm-hmm.

Well, I, I just encountered a handful of new quests in doing my Mulgore questing, and they all were fine.

Like, they, they were all like, "Oh yeah, go kill the-"

But it's not like it really...

They didn't change Mulgore in the Burning Crusade.

No, they just-

So there's room in Mulgore to put him in early, so to speak, uh, to put him in 1 to 60.

And yeah, I mean, it, it was like a level, it was a beginner quest.

It was not like a level 60 or 70 quest.

It's, it's like this time in a memorial lockbox.

Yes, there's gonna be new stuff, but like, this is...

But there was once a, um, a kid named Ezra Chatterton who was a Make-A-Wish foundation, um, person who did a request with World of Warcraft to get a quest made.

It's the whole, it's the Kyle's Gone Missing thing, um, in Mulgore.

And this was something that actually came out in the Burning Crusade, and it was just, it was a, if I remember correctly, and this, I remember the story when it happened.

But they had this kid come in and actually did some of the VO for the quest as well.

Including, uh, I believe it's Ahab Wheathoof and, uh, Kyle the Frenzied, the dog.

That whole quest is gonna come back in.

And I mean, at the end of the day, like, it's just another quest you can do in Mulgore, kind of a specialized corner of the world.

But I just think it's so cool that they took the time to go back on, you know, doing this again and, and bringing what's a beloved quest for many people, just in that it helps, like, honor someone who was super, like, positive in the community, and, uh, certainly the Make-A-Wish Foundation in its own way there too, so.

I was playing a tauren.

Just, I d- was just blown away by how, I mean, I, I mostly wanted to do it 'cause I was like, you know, I've always kind of thought the Barrens is ugly, and I've thought, like, certain parts of Mulgore are ugly.

I mean, not entirely, but when that mist was clouding the whole thing, it couldn't be appreciated.

Wow.

Because, yes, I play almost exclusively at night.

So I can't see shit in half the zones like Mulgore near.

And it's funny because I don't mind it.

What I want is, and like, if anyone from blizzard's listening and can just send a word over there, we need torches.

This game is Valheim.

I like it dark.

I like when I go out and Mulgore or, or into, I've been in Ashenvale and it's nighttime.

I love the nighttime vibe.
