He was driven from his first estate, his first area of habitation, and they had to go and settle somewhere else.

You'll recall that ultimately they went north and joined with the people of Zarahemla, which were the sons of Mulek that came into the Americas from the north, and Lehi came into the Americas from the south.

Also, we need to understand this in the context of Moses 7.

I've found in the Book of Mormon that has drawn me in, in the hopes that people who love the scriptures but maybe still find it to be a chore to read the Book of Mormon on a regular basis can find some stuff that engages them and gets their nose in the book.

But even when I would identify it, I'd be like, oh, where did he say that? And what did he say? I remember he mentioned this person, Mulek.

Where was that? Oh, was that in Omni? And then I would go back and find it.

He's prominently known in Western New York.

In fact, using the pen name Muley Mulek, which is a name that also ought to sound a little bit like the Book of Mormon.

Mulek and Noah, King Noah in the Book of Mormon, are, again, types and shadows of this actual historical character, Mordecai Emnoa.

So this journalist, dreamer, playwright, he imagines the creation of a city of refuge he calls Ararat.

And you can see In the picture of me with the cornerstone of Ararat that he, in a big ceremony, would establish.

But it's also not just making fun of it.

The Book of Mormon is going to do it better.

And so you get the Mulekites and the Zarahemlites, the Mulekites being another reference there.
