The AP's MP, Shaharizan Johan, questioned why UMNO and PAS were now challenging an RCI established following pressure from their own side.

Meanwhile, PKR Youth Chief Kamil Abdul Munim said RCI should not be used to produce findings that suit political parties but to establish the truth based on evidence and testimony.

PH DAP leader Abdul Aziz Bari said the push for a second RCI was at odds with the Agung's decree to fully investigate the first RCI findings and prosecute those responsible.

Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Hassan also weighed in, urging MPs who claim to defend Muslim interests to stay in Parliament and debate the RCI finding instead of walking out.
