Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr

Sermon sixty-seven.

When Amir al-Mu'minin appointed Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr, governor of Egypt, and he was overpowered and killed, Amir al-Mu'minin, alayhi s-salam, said, "I had intended to send Hashim ibn Utbat to Egypt, and had I done so, he would have made way for the opponents, nor given them time to get hold of him.

This is without reproach to Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr, as I loved him and I brought him up."

One of the closest companions to the fourth Imam was his father-in-law, Al-Qasim.

The father of Al-Qasim, so the grandfather of his wife, was Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr.

Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr was the son of Abu Bakr, the first Khalifa.

But he was a disciple of Imam Ali .
