Mr. Mistoffelees

And his intellect and his introspective understanding of the material and knowing how to respect the material, but knowing how to interweave storytelling through his form of choreography, I feel like, you know, was a great compliment and, um, and also to, uh, the aesthetic, uh, and different arrangements.

Uh, there's a great arranger and orchestrator, John Clancy, who did a lot of, uh, did quite a few, uh, new arrangements and orchestrations for our production of cats, uh, most prominently the Rum Tum Tugger and Mr. Mistoffelees.

He did some great arrangements working alongside Andrew.

But aesthetically, it was in the more traditional sense.

if you are a musical theater nerd and you love Cats, there's a song about a cat called Mistoffelees.

And so I'm just thinking, I'm sure that's what Re- OneRepublic meant is they're bringing back-

I thought it was an angel.

Ooh.

It was much more, um, I don't know what the right term is, but like with it being break dancing and like the, the turns being spun on his head and I hope I'm not spoiling for people to see, it's like, it's, it's so amazing.

But it's just a different Mistoffelees, in a sense.

And you all played up the Bombelly Arena side a lot more, which was very evident.

And also, you know, a huge part of it, too.

For me, that's just, yeah, one of my favorite moments in the show.

I love the mist, though.

So my favorite bit to do in the show is Mr. Mistoffelees' number.

I just love singing it.

um and Chrissy as

well and Chrissy's very exact Chrissy Cartwright was extraordinary about recreating Jilly's vision and Jilly's work um that was very obvious and indeed then instilling her own creativity to it so yeah it was an intense period of time and uh and actually I didn't rehearse with the the Mistoffelees and the Mistoffelees and I did do a duet at the end of the Gumby Cat number which you don't yeah you don't see the whole thing in the film but it goes on for quite a lot and um I actually rehearsed with Fergus Logan who was joining in the company who was um No, he joined later, sorry.

But basically, I didn't do much work with him because he was off injured at the time.

So I actually probably only danced with him, I'm pretty certain, on the last run through and then the dress rehearsal were the times that we actually started to dance together until our press release.

Easily, very easily.

I remember I came out of the central a bit early one day, which was quite early on.

And I came out a little bit early and I got whacked in the head because Mistoffelees has to run around and go up on the top.

It wasn't his fault.

Right now, God, what are we doing? We're doing nine lives of Mr.

Mistoffelees, as always.
