Mr Fitzherbert

Bridget's inner monologue is hilarious.

She describes some of the different people in her office, like her co-worker Perpetua who bosses her around, the office womanizer Daniel Cleaver, and her weird boss she doesn't like, Mr. Fitzherbert.

This movie being, in part, a rom-com, we can safely guess where the story will go next.

Even though Bridget has a good read on the world around her and has goals she wishes to achieve, she is not in tune with what she really needs and desires, but maybe instead it is what she thinks she wants.

Not only does the attention feel good, Bridget thinks it will be in pursuit of her goal of finding a good man to be in a relationship with and build her life with as she grows older.

As the perceived positive attention from Daniel continues, things in other parts of Bridget's life are not going as smoothly.

Mr. Fitzherbert calls her Brenda again, but hey, at least Daniel knows her name is actually Bridget.

And I have to ask, Is that really all it takes, knowing someone's name? Is that the standard? This is one of those moments in the story that I truly feel for Bridget because I know what it's like to have standards for what we will endure in other people's treatment or mistreatment.
