Mr. Dressup

You have this proliferation of everybody's going to be a broadcaster or everybody's going to make a cartoon because the broadcasters desperately need that content.

In February of 1967, the very first episode of Mr. Dressup happened.

Certain series like Friendly Giant and Mr. Dressup were on for literal decades.

You had generations of Canadians who watched those shows, and then their children watched those shows.

That kind of relationship with the audience just doesn't exist anymore.

But still, most of my time, I wasn't even at school 'cause I was in the booth recording episodes of Beetlejuice.

It was a pretty great life as a teenager back then.

And concurrently, I was also still on Mr. Dressup, another iconic Canadian children's show.

I love Mr. Rogers, but I'm sorry, Americans.

Mr. Dress-Up is better.

I never grew up with Mr.

Dress-Up.

I believe I've been told I need to rewatch it.

I did grow up watching Mr. Dressup because we got the Canadian TV channel on the antenna.

But yeah, I was excited to see Vancouver, especially because I want to put a spoiler alert here.

Like, Mr. Dress-Up was my guy.

And it turns out that they knew each other and they worked with each other, which lets me know that he might be the Kanye West of, like, The Rock, where Jay-Z gets all this...

Classic.
