Mountain View High School

running out of a hold even, and breaking past the Mountain View secondary en route to the score, giving a 14-8 Vista Ridge lead.

Nothing really happens on the next Mountain View play here, but Vista Ridge does get a run inside of the Lions territory following a tough punt and a decent return.

The results in Vista Ridge getting a great look inside of the five-yard line, but the touchdown pass would be dropped on a slant near the back of the end zone here, and that would result in no points.

Mountain View would have to start inside of their own five-yard line with two minutes to go.

Now they start off a drive with a direct snap run right that gives them some breathing room before some of the heavy hitters here in Ellie Roberts and Charlie Schuster Moore make some plays pushing the Lions deep into Vistaridge territory and giving themselves a scoring opportunity.

Mountain View is knocking on the door and calls a direct snap that looks like it scores, but an illegal block on Mountain View erases it.

I'll admit in real time, I did think that this would be a legal contact on the defense based off of the way that the defender fell or the way that the blocker fell running into the defender here.

Mountain View takes a timeout on fourth and goal from the 11-yard line with seven seconds to go into halftime.

Unfortunately for Lakewood, whose season would come to a close here as Lutheran would defeat Lakewood 38-0.

The Lions defense would force four interceptions on on Lakewood here and ultimately hold this offense to under 190 total yards on the day here.

Meanwhile, the Lakewood defense was not able to force any turnovers and Luther would just roll right on through this one.

TCA would go all day against Elizabeth here.

Elizabeth scored a touchdown at the very end to prevent the shutout, but TCA would collect the 39-6 victory here to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.

Golden, after that initial first round win, would take on the juggernaut Mountain View Lions.

And Mountain View would take care of business in this game, winning 37-7.

Lexi Detloff here, 14 of 26, 196 yards and two touchdowns.
