Mountain Home

First, the missing endangered child listed in an amber alert distributed across southwest Idaho late Thursday has been located, according to state police.

Eight-year-old Christian Van Bergen had not been seen, had been last seen rather, September 20th in Mountain Home.

Idaho State Police did not provide additional information.

The group behind a ballot initiative to restore abortion rights in Idaho just got a heavy injection of cash, including a big donation from former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The refurbished Idaho Liberty Bell statewide tour continues with stops this week across South Central and Southwest Idaho.

Fairfield, Mountain Home, and CUNA get visits this Thursday.

The Bell travels across rural Canyon County on Friday, Marsing, Holmdale, Wilder, Parma, and then into New Plymouth before a late afternoon stop in Emmett.

Saturday, it's on to Horseshoe Bend and then up Highway 55 to Donnelly and Cascade.

He was hired as a full-time officer.

To make his dream even better, his brother Michael was a conservation officer in nearby Mountain Home, Idaho.

Nice.

Hell yeah.

Was there a favorite place that you lived motocross-wise? So I really got heavier in the competition when we were

in Mountain Home, Idaho.

It's a little town, central Idaho.

And there was a place called Owyhee Motorcycle Club.

So I was in line to get that.

And then last second... somebody else outperformed my packet and they got selected instead.

So then I go to a second operational assignment in mountain home, which is amazing.

I mean, I don't know, maybe not as cool as Australia location wise, but like the experience of flying jets in Idaho, the low levels through those mountains, I mean, blows my mind.

Somewhere over the Atlantic, 12 jets are heading home.

They left Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho back in March of 2026, headed for the Middle East.

Six months later, they touched down at RAF Lakenheath in England.

And if you were standing on that ramp watching them roll in, the first thing you would have noticed wasn't the engines or the distinctive twin-tail silhouette of the F-15 Echo Strike Eagle.

It flies with a pilot up front and a weapons systems officer in the backseat.

In the Air Force, they call that backseater a WIZO.

And for six months, the WIZOs and pilots of the 366 Fighter Wing out of Mountain Home, Idaho, were doing real work in the Middle East.

The MO on their tail code stands for Mountain Home.

...

Mountain Home.

Mountain Home, Idaho, uh-

Don't even know where that is, but sure.

The-

Yeah, exactly.

In 2016, when I first tried the electric skateboard right across the country, I went from Eugene, Oregon to Mountain Home, Idaho, and I had a couple close calls.

Okay.

And in Mountain Home, Idaho, I went out the next morning, put the board on the ground, and...

I couldn't step on it.

I chickened out.

Where were you?

I was in Mountain Home, Idaho, military base.

And my dad, he was a commander of one of the fighter squadrons there.

And yes, it was mountain time, so we were an hour before.

But we were flying a mission off range.

We flew up to Mountain Home, hit a camera target, and then came home.

One airplane after another, separated by three to five miles all the way up and all the way back.

It was a

big circuit.

So what the air traffic controllers would see was a necklace of airplanes in a chain and a long trail flying their route up toward Mountain Home.

Okay.

Yeah.
