Mount San Antonio

So that's wrapped in, you know, Jemez Mountain views and looking back with really just extraordinary Sangre ski mountain views also.

Looking to the north, just all the way to Colorado, you can see Mount San Antonio in Colorado.

Just big, huge open skies.

It's really stunning.

But anyway, yeah, this case...

Brought up to mind, Mount Baldy.

We're talking about Mount Baldy.

And there's been a recent case of a young lady who went missing and found deceased.

And today they actually had to rescue six people from Mount Baldy.

Baldy Bowl Area, 2023.

Julian Sands, a 65-year-old actor, went missing on Friday, January 13, 2023, around 7.30 p.m. He'd gone hiking in the Baldy Bowl area of Mount Baldy, but did not return.

Julian was an experienced climber and knew the potential dangers of hiking in such challenging and strenuous terrain.

Officials found his car in a nearby parking lot, presumably where he'd left it before starting his hike.

And so on these walks, you lose yourself.

you become a vessel of energy and harmony, hopefully, with your environment.

Sadly, on June 27, 2023, officials identified human remains previously found on Mount Baldy as Julian's.

The cause of Julian's death could not be determined, however, due to the condition of the remains and inconclusive findings from the coroner's investigation.

Okay, yeah.

There's a, there's a mountain in SoCal who I-- that I go to quite often called Mount Baldy, and I've done it 112 times, and it's just over 10,000 feet.

So I think-

And so I was like, all right, full like mountain training.

The week before the Badwater race, I went up to my local mountain, which I love training on, especially when I'm doing European races, Mount Baldy.

And there's a route on Bear Canyon where it's like 6.1 miles and 6,000 feet of climbing.

In that one, one route.

It's amazing.

And so I spent the day out there.

I did a double summit on Mount Baldy.

I hit it from two different sides.

He went and did...

It was kind of dumb, but he went and ran up Mount Baldy down here in the, uh, in the San Gabriel Mountains and, uh, [laughs] he was not prepared for it, but he's one of those people who's just like, I don't know, he can just do whatever and be fine.

Uh, but he ran up, ran down.

They barely, you know, beat the sunset, and immediately got in the car and drove, like, 90 minutes.

Yeah, I think we're all right.

But anyway, yeah, this case brought up to mind Mount Baldy.

[coughs] Back in maybe, like, 2013, I decided to take a pack of people, including my girlfriend, up to the top of Mount Baldy on Christmas Day.

Now, I was living in Malibu, and I decided not to go home to see my family, and it was like, maybe it was 2012.

I, I didn't really know about the mountain ranges in Southern California.
