Mount Qaf

And then from there, because in the beginning...

Canada almost had this mythical quality to it, because as I mentioned in that essay, is that when Malam Khodayar left for Canada, it was so far away, so out of our imagination, that some people, mostly kids, thought that he used to live near this mythical place called Koweqaf, or the Qaf Mountain, where all the fairies and ghouls live.

So that's how far away it was.

And then once the family started coming back to visit Afghanistan, you're like, okay, so this is an actual place with actual people living there so far away from what we thought it would be.

His name is Simorgh.

And she knows where the king, uh, is, which is beyond the mythological Mount Qaf, which is kind of really saying beyond the limits of the physical world.
