Mount Buller

Just before 3 a.m. on the 29th, the E-tag on Conrad's BMW was detected on the Marunda Highway on the way to Victoria's High Country.

Three hours later, he drove through the entrance gate at the Mount Buller Resort which was witnessed by several other motorists who all claimed to have seen Conrad himself behind the wheel.

Approximately seven hours after he left his home in the middle of the night, seemingly with no destination or reason in mind, at 10 am his car was found abandoned on the side of the road and Conrad had seemingly vanished right into the ether.

He hasn't been seen or heard from since.

[upbeat music] One of Australia's worst snow seasons on record is coming to an end, with some of our country's biggest resorts, Mount Buller, Hotham, and Falls Creek, closing early over the weekend.

A run of unseasonably warm and rainy weather has plagued the mountains since June, when the season usually begins, and tourists were met with disappointing conditions throughout.

Instead of fresh powder, skiers turned up to warm, rainy weather and slopes that were more dirt than snow.

Yesterday we got news that Mount Buller and Mount Hotham are closing this Sunday on Father's Day quite early.

Usually the ski season stretches right into October.

We're already seeing the impacts of climate change and we also heard yesterday I believe was the the UN report that we are going to exceed one and a half degrees of warming like the ship sailed like it's done and we are seeing the impacts and I was having a conversation with my mum yesterday and she said it just feels like we've entered this next phase now where we're not talking about when climate change hits it's here it's happening and so yeah it's unfortunately another story where no El Nino isn't caused by climate change however climate change is likely going to make this one much worse and that's exactly what the UN's warning.
