Motorcycle club

Yeah, I don't know if ACC considered the charitable side of motorcycling.

I spoke to Rob Goulden yesterday, who's the president of Centurion's Motorcycle Club in Wellington.

He said exactly the same, that he's got 37 members and they regularly ride up into the Hawke's Bay and they've been helping with flood relief from the cyclone.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, we've been operating since 2012, and we're a full charitable trust.

We aren't a motorcycle club at all, so anyone can join us.

We've got members on the committee that have never ridden in their life and never want to because it's just not in them.

Obviously, they introduced like Motorcycle Club being a CEO and all these other things.

But I still thought heists could have seen some love on some of those missions because...

Because they were so big, so explosive, so cinematic in the experience.

Yeah, I really like that it's coming from a member of a clean and sober club because a lot of people don't realize that in this world, there are a lot of sober members of motorcycle clubs in every club.

And in fact, I think you guys have heard me talk about it before on some other episodes, but the club I came from even helped members get into rehab and ran a rehab facility and had a whole clean and sober chapter.

Well, I think I would have to start just a couple of minutes before age nine to really paint the right picture.

And that is, I was born into a motorcycle club, aka a gang.

Yeah, we, my parents, well, my father was the vice president.

So the number two in power in this frankly organized crime club called the Motorcycle Club.

And this was back in the late seventies up in Western Michigan.

And he and my dad had, or he and my mom had been dating and My mom got pregnant and she was going to terminate the pregnancy, but she got drunk, told my dad about it, and he convinced her that they should get married.

And so money was the currency for their lifestyle then.

Money wasn't wealth building.

Yeah, but they still go on bike rides.

So, like, hey, no disrespect to motorcycle clubs.

I'm just saying.

So this is in my head what it is.
