Welcome to Fashion Roundtable's sixth book club.

Today we're joined by Frida Gormley to talk about her debut book, In the Company of Nature.

This is part memoir, part manifesto, and the book provides an invitation to let nature guide the way we collectively build, work, and live.

Frida is the co-founder of British Interiors Brand House of Hackney, and the book describes the process from startup to the evolution into a radical case study in regenerative business, guided by nature's age-old blueprint of living systems.

On paper, we're an interiors brand, but increasingly I think of House of Hackney as something of a living experiment in what a company can be.

So we started off wanting to bring nature back into our home through print, colour and pattern.

Nature was our design muse, I suppose.

But over the last 15 years, and particularly through becoming parents and really becoming to understand the ecological crisis more deeply, I would say that our relationship with nature has fundamentally changed.

Where have we talked about Dena Dietrich? Good heavens, we could be here probably for a couple of hours.

She was Mother Nature in the Chiffon commercials back in the '70s and '80s.

She played Helen Roper's sister on a number of episodes of The Ropers.

I saw her recently on an episode of The Golden Girls.

'Cause I do remember seeing her on an episode, uh, r- again, reasonably recently.

So definitely somebody you'd know.

And again, if you're a kid of the '70s and '80s, you definitely know her f- as Mother Nature in the Chiffon commercials.

You don't mess with Mother Nature.

And the sun slowly comes to show how my life's been blessed from long ago.

Even when I have nothing, even when I have no more strength left to go, there's a voice in the air whispering, "Mother Nature has always been there to hold me in her arms, high above to the sky.

Hold you in her arms.

Light the earth, you are her child." [upbeat music] Wind brings tomorrow.

In the sky, there's a rainbow.

I wonder, would it last until I grow? Even when I am older, even when I don't remember which way to go, there's a voice in the air leading me.

Mother Nature will always be there to guide me in her arms.
