They maybe don't have the same depth as some other teams to be sitting eighth in the table with 24 points at this stage, I think.

Stephen McDonald the players have done very well clearly and I think Stephen McDonald the manager has done a fine job like he did I think I've said before I thought he did very well last season to you know bring silverware back to Mosset Park and then with the challenges he's faced this season I think he's continuing to do a really good job for Forrest and one person I think I would flag up for that on Saturday as well and it's easy saying that after he's scored a couple of goals but Matt Jamieson got two and he's somebody who in recent seasons has been a key player for Forrest and this season so far has probably been quite tough for him he's not really been maybe scoring the goals or creating the goals as regularly as he has in the past but he's kind of in the last few weeks he's kind of been coming back to sort of the levels he he expects himself and that for us expect from him and hopefully for him getting a couple of goals will just help him kick on again and for Invergordon Gary Campbell really disappointed with their showing defensively just felt it was too they were too easy to play against too easy to score against slack in the back and I mean they've scored two goals and they're two good finishes actually and they had their share especially first half by all accounts their share of the play and created chances but if you're conceding four goals it's always going to be very difficult for you and we will have shown you the goals on screen if you were watching them and wondering why you've only seen five rather than six goals we didn't have Forrest's first one because I believe that It was after five minutes or so and I believe the recording device wasn't switched on at that point, so I'm told.

So that's why there's a goal missing in what you've just watched.

But at the end of it all, a good win for Forrest.

One, being the cup holders, I'm sure they're obviously desperate to try and retain it if they can and that's them through to the semi-final now tie against either Ross County or Wick Academy to come.

Another reason I'd imagine they're probably delighted is because So far this season, Lossie Mouth have been a wee bit of a bogey team for them, beating McGrath Park in the Highland League and also one at Mosset Park in the R. Davidson Bunkery Highland League Cup.

So to actually reverse that trend and come through on Saturday was a good result for the Cancans and Sean McCarthy.

I think the goalkeeper proved his worth again 1-1 he made an important late save from Scott Docherty to force penalties and then in the shootout he's made the crucial save from Lewis McAndrew who'd actually scored a penalty past him in the 90 minutes but he saved for him and then 5 good Spock XFA Forest boys they scored all five to take them through and again in challenging conditions with the I think wind not so much rain but certainly wind at Grant Park credit to both teams for getting it on and credit to Forest for going through and sort of keeping alive those hopes of maybe lifting the cup again

Definitely and I think we're on about entertainment and value for money I think by the sounds of things as well anybody who went to Mosset Park got there you know saw a very good game as well Forrest against Huntley finished 2-2 and plenty happening and Dylan Shaw put Huntley in front early but then Callum Frame got a double to give Forrest a lead and then Angus Grant came off the bench and netted an equaliser in the second half for Huntley but I think really the key moment in the game, what might have been Stephen McDonald was sort of ruined at 2-1, Forrest a really good chance that Callum Frame created for Matty Jamieson and Lenny Wilson saved it and I think he felt if that had gone in, Chances are they're going to win, but it wasn't to be.

But I think after, you know, a couple of defeats of late, that was, you know, in terms of performance and although they would have liked three, taking something out of the game, that was a sort of welcome for Forrest.

And for Huntley now, six unbeaten and in sort of decent fettle going into... two really big games coming up in the next 10 days Arnon at home in the Scottish Cup second round on Saturday and then Vermaarten at Christie Park in the semi-final of the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup next Wednesday

I think also a similar category for us losing 1-0 to University of Stirling.

at Mosset Park like Forrest you know going into that tie in really good form with three straight wins and University of Stirling haven't started their season particularly well but Steve McDonald said afterwards the Cancans just never hit the levels of recent games and never really got going or sort of showed what they're capable of and I mean that would be frustrating in any game but particularly when it's in the Scottish Cup you know you only get one crack at that every you know if that happens in a league game you go well can we do it right next week in the Scottish Cup when you've only got one crack at it it's disappointing and in a similar vein really Nairn County getting beat 1-0 at home to Gretna 2008 it was another tie on paper you felt that was you know a big winnable tie for Nairn and just I mean they had enough chances on the day but they just didn't take them and Gretna took theirs and you end up getting knocked out so those were sort of four that were I think you would file in the really frustrating or missed opportunity category Devon Vale probably another one that could go in there they got beat 3-2 by Troon at Princess Royal Park and I think as has been said maybe this season or in previous seasons that defensively veiled just shot themselves in the foot a wee bit left themselves a bit too much to do because they did rally quite well in the second half with a couple of goals but they were you know 2-0 down and then back to 2-1 disputed penalty that they gave away 3-1 then 3-2 and they couldn't equalize so that that was another one where like you felt Vale especially being at home had a right chance in that tie and they haven't been able to get through unfortunately I mean you go through some of the other ones like Bocce the push briefing all the way they'll be I mean disappointed and maybe feeling a wee bit hard done by 2-2 they had sounded like the Jags had the better chances to win it as well and it's Mackay hitting the crossbar and then beating 4-2 on penalties but where they probably do take encouragement is given maybe the sort of

field stuff and you know discussions about you know wage reductions and negotiating with players and it's losing darryl mccarty of course yeah well we lost darryl mccarty to elgin during the week but then to be fair it's a deal it's kind of worked out you know in terms of the bigger picture it's quite a favorable deal for bucky in terms of darryl's Going back to Elgin and then Bucky are getting Sam Rothney and Liam McDonald on loan and returning.
