Moses Walker

itSo I don't know- Jason, the linebacker group, to me, is the best on the defense, which, you know, may not, might not say much.

But I would give the linebackers a damn B+, because Moses Walker is part of that core, okay? Shaun Allison got subbed out for him halfway into week two, and all of a sudden we saw a competent defense.

Moses Walker was there.

Um, we got, uh, Ty Morris, middle linebacker replacing Dariel Jeune-Boom.

Yeah, Tyrium Powell was solid.

But my optimism about whether Rutgers is improved is tempered by the sheer depression I feel that it's only October 5th, and we're still in the same depressing place, and it's just not acceptable.

As a New Jersey native, I can't stand this.

I mean, Moses Walker is second in the Big 10 in interceptions as a linebacker.

Looking at Rutgers from a defensive perspective, their leading tackler so far on the season is Chris Joins, with 20 tackles and he's also, you know, he, well, he doesn't have any interceptions at this point, but he's been all over the field for them.

DK Gilley, uh, with 19 total tackles, and then it's been Moses Walker, Jesse O'Fury, and Bradley Jones from there.

Uh, they've had a couple of guys pick up sacks so far on the season.

Moses Walker with one and a half sacks and two interceptions, and then Rondo Porter has a sack as well on his record.

So, you know, this is a, a defense that has been, I think, i- it hasn't been great by any means.

What's gonna be interesting keeping an eye out, uh, for this Rutgers defense at this point is they are missing some players, uh, in terms of injury, particularly on defense.

that's why i'm saying that there is a chance primarily just from how this team was able to play on all three levels or no or at least offensively against usc and i know the biggest issue is going to be how ruckers defense is going to match up against uh lee baby jordan here because we saw at the end of that northwestern game he was the person who sealed the game away by breaking four tackles to get a get a first down on a i'm correct third in one or a fourth in one.

And we've seen right now with the linebackers, outside of Moses Walker, Sean Allison has had a rough year so far when it comes to tackling.

But I think offensive-wise...

Rutgers is going to try to run the same type of offense that Indiana runs with Kirsten Yeti, and that's being physical, off the ball, beating you with a running game.

Yeah.

And I think the emergence of Abram Wright and Moses Walker this year, Walker's looked more like the player we expected the four-star coming in.

And Abram Wright always had a lot of potential, especially with his speed, has brought a little bit of depth into the linebacker room.

But again, you talk about being a developmental program and you've got guys like McCleary and Archie and Deloach who are no slouches as recruits.
