Morpheus

Neo gets hurt and Neo's bleeding from the nose.

He says to Morpheus, he goes, I thought you said it wasn't real.

And Morpheus says, your mind makes it real.

And then Neo says, if you die in the Matrix, you die here.

And Morpheus says the body can't survive without the mind.

Four lines of dialogue that completely explain the rules of the Matrix.

Yes, you can go in there and you can jump off buildings and you can bend reality.

But...

Yeah, so like him with the bald head and him as Morpheus.

You have also the guy that you mentioned, Palantoni, that was in Bad Boys.

He was Cypher.

I think one of the greatest scenes was when he's shooting.

He pulls up with the helicopter with that big minigun and he's shooting around.

Then you see Morpheus jumping.

And then there's another scene where the one where they're flying the helicopter and Trinity's like holding on to that rope or whatever, whatever it was, right? And you just see her crash into the building and you see all the glass come up, look like water and just shatter.

That's why his last name is Anderson, if you think about it.

And then we also have the character Morpheus, which I think that he really kind of represents Moses.

I think that's why his name is what it is.

And then we also have a character named Cypher, which this makes you think of Gematria, which I spoke about in episode 27 and really several of my episodes actually.

It's foreshadowing that.

And it's also foreshadowing the death of Neo's old self in this movie.

Trinity says Morpheus believes he is the one.

Cypher says, do you? And Trinity says, it doesn't matter what I believe.

What?

And if he was cast, he claims that if he was casted as Neo, Val Kilmer was supposed to play Morpheus.

I do think they would race swap there.

Yeah,

Hugo Weaving, Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss all were dealt injuries during the filming and training of this movie and that's Keanu Reeves was supposed to do more kicks in this movie but because of how bad his injuries were they had to change his fighting style It's, yeah.

Yeah.

And then you have Lawrence Fishburne as Morpheus.

I think this is, like, one of those iconic characters of Hollywood.

Oh, yes, that's right.

It seems fairly obvious that I think they added in the whole thing about Morpheus asking Link to trust him to establish that Link is a new character and give him something to do in there.

But aside from that, he does just fulfill the tank role.

He's like, that ship needs an operator and it's me.

That sure, maybe they're quote unquote on top as in they're not being sucked in as batteries themselves.

But as we have seen the key maker, the key maker is such a great character in this movie.

And is the key maker's experience any different even at all from that of Trinity, Neo, Morpheus, any of the survivors? He's a cognitive experience.

He is.

The red pill and blue pill come from the Matrix, 1999, the Wachowskis.

Morpheus offers Neo a choice, swallow the blue pill and wake up in his normal life, none the wiser, or swallow the red pill and see the world as it really is, a simulation run by machines.

In conspiracy circles, taking the red pill means waking up to the hidden truth behind the official story.

The blue pill is staying comfortable, believing the mainstream narrative, never questioning anything.
