Morgoth

Sauron is there at the beginning and works with all the spiritual beings to bring the universe into being.

There is a sort of Tolkien-esque satanic character called Morgoth who arises.

He is a Valar, and he is a lower-g god, and he tries to resist God and the rest of the spiritual being single-handedly.

And he's resisted because similar to a lot of Christian theology, Tolkien's monotheistic God is all powerful.

And so no one can stop God from doing what God's going to do.

And so Morgoth is successfully resisted by Iluvatar.

but Morgoth breaks away from the spirit of the Ainur.

And he says, Hey, if you want to be awesome and actually create our own world and do what we want to do, come join me.

Um, So, uh, Finrod.

So Baron tries to go off to Morgoth who has the Simirels at this point.

Uh, at one point he's waylaid by Sauron.

Uh, he gets captured in Sauron's dungeon with Finrod, uh, Galadriel's brother.

Baron, though, then escapes with, I believe, Luthien's help and also, like, a talking dog.

There's, like, a talking dog named, I think, Huor, who's really adorable at that time.

Much more to the story, but essentially, Baron does get, with the help of Luthien, a Cimmerillion, and they're escaping with it, but one of the wolves guarding Morgoth's, sort of, throne room catches them, and Baron, like...

Throws the Silmarillion in front of its face to try and blind it, but then it just eats his hand.

We have the Garhoth.

Garhoth are werewolves bred by Morgoth and Sauron through feeding them fell spirits and by using necromancy.

Feeding them fell spirits? That

sounds kind of close to those breatharians.

Elrond and Elros, children of Eärendil, Steedlover, and Elfwing, Elffoam, were so called because they were carried off by the sons of Feanor in the last act of the feud between the High Elven houses of the Noldoran princes concerning the Silmarils.

The Sommerel rescued from Morgoth by Baron and Luthien and given to King Thingol, Elway, Luthien's father, had descended to Elwing, daughter of Dior, son of Luthien.

The infants were not slain, but left like babies in the wood in a cave with a fall of water over the entrance.

There they were found, Elrond within the cave and Elros dabbling in the water.

And I have selected some music for this occasion.

MUSIC PLAYS So first we have Finrod, Galadriel's beloved older brother, who died at the very beginning of season one in the battles with Morgoth.

I believe at Sauron's hands personally, but I'm not positive about that.

Looks like it from the show.

Back on the other side of the sea, in Aman, Feanor, begrudgingly I say this, is the most gifted elf who'll ever live, has caught the light of the two trees, that light up the world, and he's caught them inside three jewels called the Silmarils.

And Melkor, i.e. Morgoth, fresh out the pen, kills the trees with the help of a giant spider, murders Feanor's dad, nicks the jewels, and legs it in Middle-earth.

Then he gets into a payment dispute with the spider and screams so loudly and, like, so shrilly, like a bitch, that the whole re- re- Regan? Fucking hell.

It's because there's region, but then there's also a place in Middle-earth called Region, I think.

Sorry, and then the riders from Forminos arrive as well.

So they tell him his dad's dead and the Silmarils are gone.

And he curses Melkor, names him Morgoth, and runs out into the night.

He goes to Tirion, even though he's still banned.

"'Who are you,' said the king, "'that come hither as a thief, and unbidden dare to approach my throne?' But Beren, being filled with dread, for the splendor of Menegroth and the majesty of Thingol were very great, answered nothing.

Therefore Luthien spoke and said, He is Beren, son of Barahir, lord of men, mighty foe of Morgoth, the tale of whose deeds has become a song even among the elves.

Let Beren speak, said Thingol.

What would you here, unhappy mortal? And for what cause have you left your own land to enter this, which is forbidden to such as you? Can you show reason why my power should not be laid on you in heavy punishment for your insolence and folly? Then Beren, looking up, beheld the eyes of Luthien, and his glance went also to the face of Melian, and it seemed to him that words were put into his mouth.

And here I have found what I sought not indeed, but finding I would possess forever.

For it is above all gold and silver and beyond all jewels.

Neither rock nor steel nor the fires of Morgoth nor all the powers of the elf kingdoms shall keep me from the treasure that I desire.

For Luthien, your daughter, is the fairest of all the children of the world.
