Great name, but don't know him.

So I bought tickets for Bailey's Christmas present last year to this comedian called Morgan Jay.

Oh,

yeah.

It is gearing up to be a very exciting event season.

We just launched and kicked off a lovely comedy season with the American comedian Morgan Jay.

This weekend, we have the strongest UFC card of the year, UFC 333.

After that, we have the one and only Russell Peters performing.

I literally just was like, I know I'm funny.

So I've had a unique journey of being like, could riff it wasn't like I just come up there like and my riffing isn't like hey what's your name what you doing yeah I'm not doing Morgan J you know I mean I'm not doing anything I'm doing like oh if a glass break I'm like and I'm tying that into I'm creating an experience that only the people who are in this room can really talk about sure and that's how I've always I've always wanted to be a date comic and I mean like a date comic is like I want a guy to bring his girl to be able to see me you can't do that with Jim Norton You can't do that with Pauly Shore.

You can't do that with these people.

I want people, that is two tickets that I could sell right there.

And we can see comedy from a more nuanced point of view where we say, oh, that person's doing something that no one else is doing.

And we can respect that, for sure.

But I don't think that negates all the hard work and things that people are putting in alongside of that or even if it's something you don't like it being acknowledged because like you know i see like matt's killing it i see morgan jay killing i see josh johnson killing it i see you know there's there's a whole subsection of people who are like the only comedian they know is uh shane gillis that's it they're just like shane gillis and tim dillon and you know then you got like the whole rogan sphere side where they're like they're like comedy exists outside of a vacuum like that you know or like some comics don't don't have podcasts like that's like kind of how they almost see it so and i don't mean that any particular way more like that's just how we now have the freedom to consume media and almost how you hear like in my brain there's like no more famous people anymore like the concept of being i mean being famous is still a thing but it's more of like whose personality is like driving something to the top.

This like kind of when you watch like Marvel movies or DC movies, like you probably know there's a new Superman movie out.

Absolutely.

I mean, this is another example of just how working with... influencers is changing so we're working with morgan jay and it's funny because like morgan jay has like multi-million followers across all platforms but because it's just like social so segmented you either absolutely know who this guy is or you might have no clue who he is which is crazy because he just sold out the greek theater twice in la but live nation recognized the value and what we did was create a series with him before we even had a brand involved in the working with the brand first and then creating a brief and trying to funnel this brand message that you already have to an influencer and say, here, can you make this and make it in your tone? That's never going to work.

So we're like, let's make something with this creator that makes sense for him.

You guys have probably seen it in, like, um, sport, sporting events, like baseball, basketball, uh, the lenses that go onto the jumbotron, and then they'll pick a random person out and put, like, a funny face.

Oh, yeah.

Suspicious as fuck.

That sensual voice belongs to my friend Morgan Jay.

So your grandfather was in the CIA.

Was in the CIA.

And in trying to learn anything about our grandfather's next steps in going through all of these letters, we stumbled across one where my grandfather mentioned that he was extremely shocked that one of those moms was able to get a letter to him, because what he was working on was extremely top secret.
