Like I'm

40 year old.
F

And I've watched a bunch of coaches come through now, Sutter, Ward, and they don't change.
F
11:04FlashGUEST
They didn't change anything.
F
11:05FlashGUEST
So the fact that Husker actually did adjust to his roster and do make changes, he let Fairby and Frost get a little more stretchy with their play.
F
11:12FlashGUEST
He let Gritton.

But they don't have that in the power play yet, and I think they're sort of might be waiting for one of these young guys, whether it's Perekh, Gruden.
R
21:34Ryan PikeGUEST
You know, Morgan Frost was really effective in the p- power play down the stretch.
R
21:37Ryan PikeGUEST
I think they're just waiting for one of these young guys to say, "I'm the power play guy.
R

This is my thing.

I mean, and they kinda did that last year for a long stretch.
B
32:22Bobby GermanyGUEST
But I'm, I almost wonder if, like, whatever unit Matt Fayne-Gridden's gonna be on, and Matt Coronato, Morgan Frost, it'll probably be the number one.
B

But I mean-

UNDER PRESSURE: Which Calgary Flames need to step up this year
J
12:30John EasthopeHOST
What do you got for your forward lines for the Flames coming up this season?
P
12:34Peter KleinHOST
Yeah, so I kind of hinted at it yesterday, but I like Gritton, Frost and Coronado together.
P
12:39Peter KleinHOST
I think there's a chemistry there.
P
12:40Peter KleinHOST
I think a lot of the pieces kind of fit when you think of like the playmaking ability that I think Frost can show.
P
12:47Peter KleinHOST
Coronado, the finisher and Gritton, kind of both.
P
12:51Peter KleinHOST
And also the speed and skill that can help kind of create a little bit of space and use that creativity to open things up.
J
14:51John EasthopeHOST
But I'm going to start off the same way you did.
J
14:52John EasthopeHOST
I fully agree with everything you said with the first line up there.

Nobody really understands what happened to Jonathan Huberto after the trade.
K
23:17KrustyHOST
They've got a Morgan Frost, who I kind of like, but again, there's just little pieces.
K
23:24KrustyHOST
You lost Coleman.
K
23:27KrustyHOST
Is Wolf the answer? That's about it.

P
14:43Peter KleinHOST
But I think more of the training camp battles are going to be who slots into what spot.
P
14:49Peter KleinHOST
Like, I, I feel like Gritten with, um, Coronado and Frost is pretty well set in.
P
14:55Peter KleinHOST
Not, not in stone, but it's at least in pen that you would have to cross out.
P
14:59Peter KleinHOST
[laughs] Um, besides that, like, I, I feel like Backlund with Feraby, that just feels like the n- the, the Blake Coleman you have at home.
J
16:14John EasthopeHOST
Who does he play with? Like, you, you write lines out there.
J
16:17John EasthopeHOST
I'm with you.
J
16:17John EasthopeHOST
You got the Coronado-Gritten combination probably with Morgan Frost.
J
16:21John EasthopeHOST
Uh, Honzik played well with Backlund before injury.

18:33AlexHOST
Morgan Frost is their one seat.
A
18:35AlexHOST
Rick, can you move it where you have the whole thing on the right and we're kind of on the left?
R
18:41RickHOST
Oh, yeah, I can do that.
R
18:46RickHOST
No, no, no
A
18:46AlexHOST
... a little bit better.
A
18:47AlexHOST
Or, Morgan Frost is their one seat.
A
18:50AlexHOST
I'm gonna zoom in.
It all comes down to THIS…
M
10:25Mark GriffithHOST
If he's back in his natural position with someone like Ball or Middleton beside him, I'm okay with that too as long as he is getting you know genuinely when it comes down to it top pairing minutes or at least similar minutes to Nemitz I'm okay with that if he's running the power play unit the first power play unit I'm okay with that second unit that's you know I'm okay with that as well with a little compromise there.
M
10:46Mark GriffithHOST
but no matter what it does not matter to me which side of the defense he plays as long as he's playing a lot this is the year to make mistakes let him play a lot let him learn from his mistakes so that he can be awesome for the future but that's kind of just my piece on that one final question is actually about morgan frost so is morgan frost a long-term answer in the top six right now the flames motives are clear get younger and keep building through the draft for the future with the team hoping to put together a core built around Reschne, Carls, Wittenbach, and this increasingly exciting prospect pool.
M
11:16Mark GriffithHOST
I mean, not to mention guys like Wolf, Parek, Gridden as well.
M
11:20Mark GriffithHOST
They're hoping to land a top three pick in the 2027 NHL draft to find a cornerstone center.
M
11:25Mark GriffithHOST
Well, I mean, they're hoping to win the cup at this point, but we know what it means.
M
11:28Mark GriffithHOST
And with Reshne likely to arrive by the end of this season, this puts the pressure on Morgan Frost to answer a key question.
M
11:35Mark GriffithHOST
Last season, after the deadline, Frost came alive as the Flames 1C alongside Gritton and Coronado, but his potential as a viable 1C is very unlikely in the NHL, so training camp is another opportunity for him to prove that at the very least he deserves a long-term deal as their 2C.
M
11:51Mark GriffithHOST
I'm not going to disagree with the article again here.
