Moontan

So, coming off that 1971-72 tour of Europe with The Who, Golden Earring were ready to break through.

And they did, in 1973, with the release of a record called Moontan, which contained a little song called Radar Love.

Radar Love was a smash hit worldwide and a breakthrough for the band.

It went to number 13 in the US and number 5 in the UK.

It was also a top 10 hit in Australia, Canada, Germany, Belgium, and it was number one in Spain.

Moontan is by far their most successful record, actually sold 2.5 million copies outside of the Netherlands, and was certified gold in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Let's hear the opening track from Moontan.

This is called Candies Going Bad.
