Montez Sweat

I think where the Bears are stacked, their roster's really good on the offensive side and not anywhere near as good on the defensive side.

I think Montez Sweat is fantastic.

Um, they do have some players defensively, but they are not...

The, the Packer- the Packers have, like I said, more talent, but I think they've got, you know, uh, like I mentioned, Montez Sweat, uh, T.J. Edwards is pretty good.

Um, I'm not thrilled with, like, Devin Bush in the middle linebacking corps.

Uh, they picked him up, uh, I think it was from Cleveland.

You know, their best pass rushers are Montez Sweat and Austin Booker, who are nice players, but their corners have been awful.

And they benched one of them.

I mean, if I were them, I would be, um, now I think you saw some things from dialogue and Yingbo last night, right? Like that gives you some hope that that signing is going to wind up looking, you know, the way they envisioned it, um, 18 months ago, you know, when they brought them in, uh, But yeah, I certainly think that the search for the guy opposite Montez Sweat has been ongoing for three years now, I think.

And so the idea that you could add another piece to the defensive front I think is certainly in play.

It's not easy to find those guys, right? And we're going to have to let a little more of the season materialize to see – what teams are at the bottom of the league and what teams might have guys to move.

And, you know, the thing is, when you look at their defense, you know, the question always becomes, okay, when I look at a team, it's okay, where's the star power? You know, who are the guys on that side that you say, hey, we're going to build our defense around this guy? And with the Chicago team, I'm not sure you have those guys, you know, those household names that you say, oh, that guy's a number one corner.

I know Jalen's good and Sweat's a good passer.

You know, you've got some good players, no question.

But it's not like a team that you see and you say, oh, man, they're loaded on defense.

I mean, if I were them, I would be, um, now I think you saw some things from dialogue and Yingbo last night, right? The defensive front, real quick, the D-line for the Bears, we're talking about the secondary and the defense and Al Harris.

This Bears D line, they are finding production, and especially now that you have both Austin Booker and Dio Adangbo healthy, and they can game them up next to each other, or you can have Montez Sweat, and when Dio bumps down to being a three technique, a defensive tackle, and some of these sub packages on passing downs, and you can run Sweat and Adangbo on games together, some pass rush stunts.

It's been really effective for the Bears.

So you can have Dio be defensive end on some rundowns.

You got guys switching around.

Montez Sweat had himself another sack, too.

It's just one of those things where you're just kind of like, all right, individually, it doesn't look great, but overall...

It's pretty good.

Three turnovers, I think.

Again, a small sample size of three games, but I may have to quell some of the concerns about the defense because Montez Sweat looks fantastic in all three games, including the one against the Panthers where 39 points were scored.
