Montemorelos

The first three hours passed without incident.

I passed Linares, passed Montemorelos, and continued south.

The weather was clear, traffic was light, and the truck was responding well.

I put on an audiobook because on long routes music is not always enough to keep my mind active.

A, uh, this is on the New York Post.

A wannabe influencer gunned down her family in a murder-suicide just hours after posting an ominous thread about revealing her nasty side.[sighs] Cindy Tamez, 33 years old, killed herself after fatally shooting her partner, oh my gosh, look at that name, Leo, Leo Degario Moya, 28 years old, and two of her sons, Christian, 12, and Bruno, 11, in their home in Montemorelos, Mexico, on Wednesday.

She then drove off with a younger son, Gustavo, and killed the two-year-old boy and took her own life in her Jeep, according to Javier Flores Saldivar.

Uh, s- this is what the, uh, this is the attorney general of, uh, [smacks lips] that's, uh, in, uh, Mexico.

The first few hours behind the wheel are usually the easiest.

You leave the metropolitan area, pass through Montemorelos, then Linares.

Back then, there was less heavy traffic at night.

I was completely alone on the road, accompanied only by my headlights and the dark strip of asphalt.
