CharmeeHOST
10:32
And then I have a Monstera and a butterfly.
CharmeeHOST
10:35
And they're so cute and pretty, but they remind me that I get to reclaim my body and what my body looks like and what my body does.
CharmeeHOST
10:42
And speaking of that, today's guest is Temi Wilkey, who is deeply talented.
Colin HaylesHOST
14:09
But I've got a couple.
Colin HaylesHOST
14:11
I just don't have the variegated Monstera.
Brandi WarrenHOST
14:13
Oh, yeah.
Brandi WarrenHOST
14:14
We've been having a lot of really cool
Colin HaylesHOST
14:15
Monstera.
Colin HaylesHOST
14:17
I saw one yesterday.
Colin HaylesHOST
14:18
I was downstairs.
Camille WalkerHOST
43:14
So I'm going to give you some questions with that.
Camille WalkerHOST
43:19
So for the first one, would you say you would love to have a Monstera or a fiddle leaf fig? Monstera, easily.
Camille WalkerHOST
43:30
Okay.
Camille WalkerHOST
43:31
So if anyone's listening, that's kind of like the Swiss cheese, I would say.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:11
You know, it's like picking a favorite child, I think.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:14
Right now, I'm really, really digging the beauty of Monstera Thai Constellation.
Teresa WatkinsHOST
25:19
Oh,
Justin HancockGUEST
25:19
yeah.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:21
It has these big, gorgeous leaves.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:22
They're fenestrated, which means they have holes, and it's variegated with white.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:27
There's a newer selection of Monstera called Monstera Mayuna Variegated that has elongated leaves that are variegated with chartreuse.
Justin HancockGUEST
25:37
And it's a faster grower.
Krystal DuranGUEST
26:19
And so I'm thinking of something like An oxalis, that would be more of a top two inches that don't want to, you check if they're dry, then you water.
Krystal DuranGUEST
26:27
But if you have something like a Monstera, it could go more into the 50% to the 75% dry in the pot.
Krystal DuranGUEST
26:34
So my fingers, I have, I'm a tiny human, so I have tiny fingers.
Krystal DuranGUEST
26:39
And so if I were to stick my finger in the top two inches, I would be missing out on half of the pot or more.

His nose wrinkles at the sour smell of my sweat, but he doesn't resist when I push his arms into the sleeve and pull up the hood.

If it frames my face, I might blend in more.
JohannaGUEST
13:29
It's cool.
JohannaGUEST
13:32
But, you know, there's someone who came in the other day and he wanted to book a Monstera makeover, which is one of the services that we offer.
JohannaGUEST
13:40
And he's like, oh, this Monstera is really big.
JohannaGUEST
13:43
And he is like one of my first customer highlights on my social media of someone who bought a Monstera from us.
JohannaGUEST
13:50
And so I was like, oh, my God, is that Monstera that you bought that you're going to sneak over? Because I have this photo and be so fun to get a photo of you like have this sort of 2021.
JohannaGUEST
13:58
And then you now in 2026 with the same Monstera photo.
JohannaGUEST
14:03
But, so, it's fun seeing, you know, regular people and seeing people come in and everything like that.
Benjamin JoeHOST
14:09
One out of the blue question.
Alexander SentinellaGUEST
22:47
Uh...
Alexander SentinellaGUEST
22:49
I mean, maybe this is a bit basic, but like I think a Monstera.
Alexander SentinellaGUEST
22:53
So we've got a few in the house here, although it's a bit ironic that despite my area of research, I'm not very good at keeping houseplants alive.
Alexander SentinellaGUEST
23:02
So they're struggling at the moment.
Matt ApplebyHOST
23:12
Who knows? But anyway, good luck with that.
Matt ApplebyHOST
23:14

Matt ApplebyHOST

Matt ApplebyHOST
23:17
So if it dies, just get another one.
Oliver DenyerHOST
9:16
It's thin and short and not good enough.
Oliver DenyerHOST
9:20
Not sufficient for my Monstera.
Oliver DenyerHOST
9:22
Way too flimsy.
Oliver DenyerHOST
9:23
I would not recommend taller poles as they are not sturdy enough.
Katie Elzer-PetersGUEST
24:01
flower from the book and follow the steps and draw it and show it to each other.
Katie Elzer-PetersGUEST
24:04
And then one day I drew a really good leaf and I think it was a Monstera leaf.
Katie Elzer-PetersGUEST
24:10
And I was like, what if I could paint this leaf? And, um, I'm friends with Amy Stewart and she is a great artist.
Katie Elzer-PetersGUEST
24:18
writer and has written lots of books about the plant world and a great historical fiction series about the first female um sheriff in the u.s it's because of the cop sisters so if you haven't read those i highly recommend i haven't read those really good um but Amy is also an artist and she has always like one thing she's always said is art is a skill anybody can learn it and so I chose to believe her and then she also had some skillshare classes so and she's very into urban sketching which is like going out and sketching on location and that really appealed to me again so I could like sit out in nature and sit out with plants And so I watched her classes and like she had a class on greens and she had a class on perspective and all of that.
