Monkeybone

Yeah, that movie was fucking freaky.

And then he did Monkeybone, which was that weird movie of Brendan Fraser with the monkey.

Okay.

That put Henry Selick in director jail for a while where people were like, that movie was god-awful.

Blast from the Past.

Monkey Bone.

Sorry.

Not Monkey Bone.

Blast from the Past.

So I remember seeing those, but it also had like other channels with music.

The other one that we were thinking of, the only one that sort of fit it was Monkey Shines, which is like a helper monkey goes crazy.

Monkey Bone? Monkey Bone.

Oh, yeah.

That's right.

Not Tim Burton.

Been meaning to revisit Monkeybone-

And-

... too-

...

since the days of Monkeybone.

[laughs]

This is, this is true.

Um-

It's immediately what came to mind.

Monkeybone-

Several

And it's got that nice...

I would have said, I think I said in my Bloody Disgusting thing, it's like, oh, Chris Kattan, this might be his best role, but I had not revisited Monkeybone, so you need to go listen to our Monkeybone episode, which is now certainly my favorite Chris Kattan role.

Same.

Yeah.

Sometimes they fucked that up, but like it almost...

You need to watch Monkeybone with Brendan Fraser.

Ah.

Very similar.

It's, it's one of those, like people didn't understand it when it came out, but like it's, it's very much like in this wheelhouse.

I, I think this was the innovator though.

Monkeybone probably came a year after.

This was.

Mm-hmm.

And most notably Monkeybone, the Brendan Fraser classic.

Yes.

Oh, lovely.

Carlos has, like, called somebody to make sure that the crew of his show is getting paid instead of ignoring them and acting like they're just here to serve him.

What if Monkeybone was nice?

What if Monkeybone was nice?

Yeah.

[laughs] I don't...

Usually, when you're making, like, a s- a, a comparison to something, the, the point is to illuminate it using a... like, to illuminate an obscure thing using a reference that more people won't understand, and I feel like a, a reference-

No

... to the movie Monkeybone is the opposite.
