Business owners, entrepreneurs, and advisors from across Atlantic Canada will gather in Moncton on Thursday, October 22nd, for the inaugural Omista Credit Union Small Biz Riot Conference.

The one-day event replaces theory-driven presentations with candid stories about real business setbacks and how owners work through them.

Sessions are organized around four themes, revenue, innovation, operations, and team.

Researchers have confirmed a tornado touched down in North Perth as part of storms that blew through the area last week.

According to the Northern Tornadoes Project, a tornado near Moncton caused EF1 damage, while EF1 damage in Seaforth was caused by a downburst.

The tornado reached wind speeds estimated at 150 kilometers an hour and damaged two barns.

The downburst in Seaforth actually reached estimated speeds of 165 kilometers an hour, causing damage to farm buildings, trees, and power poles over an 8-kilometer span.
