Monclova

Piedras Negras.

My family's actually from Coahuila, Monclova, and we're in this town, and we're like, "Let's go." I tell the g- the people.

The pastor that's driving me out there, he as- an ex Santa Muerte worshiper as well, and, um, and he actually got deported from ex, from the United States back to Mexico, and he has a whole testimony.

Um, he was telling me how he used to do soul ties to his mom with this, with, like, he used to do, like, rituals so his parents would act a certain way for him.

They all went to Mexico.

A light rain began to fall just south of Monclova as we started our climb into the high mountain passes of the Sierra de la Parisium.

It was no problem for us.

Mex57 was a well-maintained road.

The trucker waved me forward.

Our first night in Mexico had been an unexpected pleasure.

A group of local riders in Monclova had invited us to an impromptu bike night at the Crazy Horse, Casa del Barbecue La Cerveza.

The cab driver dropped us off at the restaurant and in front of several finely detailed Harleys.

So it took a bit, but Wool's army crossed into Mexico without losing a single man or wagon, which is quite impressive, and thanks largely to Lee, the engineer.

As the column pushed deeper into the arid plains toward Monclova and Paras, a frustrating journey that saw Wool frequently stop and sometimes retreat at the mere rumor of an approaching Mexican force, Lee had his first legendary encounter of the campaign.

And this came with a possible panic that really only he prevented.

This is an episode remembered by regular officers as the Sheep Scout of Agua Nueva.
