the famous pastel da nata the portuguese pastry was invented in that very monastery and just down the road here you will see a long queue forming outside the pastels de belem which is the original pastry shop now i'm not saying they taste any different from the rest of the pastels they have in the rest of portugal i'm not saying they're the cheapest All I'm saying is they've got plenty of heritage.
