Molly Mormon

Yeah, let me know what everyone's doing with their boxes of religious stuff.

Someone said, my freshman year at UVU, Provo University, I had a super Molly Mormon roommate.

One day we were talking in the kitchen about movies, and she told me her first PG-13 movie she saw was when all of the roommates went to see Twisters at the beginning of the year.

That's that tornado movie, I think.

But also, for sure...

Many of them are dead ass serious when they say they would rather like kill a puppy than take a sip of coffee or watch an R-rated movie.

And even if it would be a bit of a moral conundrum for some of them, like it sounds like I guess luckily it was for this Molly Mormon roommate, like they would have to consider it.

And I do think...

But the thing that's really inspired me is your spiritual strength.

And so I wanted to ask a couple questions like what's your kind of like background? It sounds like you might have grown up Mormon or are Mormon.

So just talk me through like your spiritual origins a little bit.

I want to know kind of where your faith and your strength comes from because I find it very inspiring.

And then I really want to get into your kind of cosmology because it very much relates to how you, I think, were able to distill what's really going on with COVID.

Yeah, so I really appreciate the question and the wanting to take a peek behind the veil of Dr. Artis' spirituality and upbringing.

I was actually raised a Mormon from the time I was born, so in the Mormon church called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I have family members on my mom's side that go all the way back to Brigham Young, some of the founders of Utah and the original members of the Mormon church.
