Leaving Points in Liverpool

Over half of Chelsea's starting 11 registered a goal contribution and a strong overall team performance, while United's clear weak point was their backline and specifically the centre-back partnership of Maya Leticia and Dominique Jansen.

Elsewhere in the traditional top four picture, Arsenal were held to a shocking scoreless draw by Crystal Palace, largely off the back of a heroic defensive performance by former Spurs player Molly Bartrip, which I'm sure we all love to see, while Manchester City cruised to a 1-4 win at Aston Villa.

So for those keeping track at home, Bunny Shaw is already up to three goals on the season and leads the Golden Boot race early on.

There was also a 2-2 draw between newly promoted Birmingham City and Brighton, thanks to a stoppage time equalizer from the Seagulls.

I d- I don't think it was a particularly viable tactic against them, and there is a risk that when you go two up front, you just start whacking it-

You know, you could sort of see how she wanted to kind of play against her former team, you know, in an incredible way.
C

And as Marv has just said, like huge flowers to Molly Bartrip.
C
21:53Chris PaourosPANELIST
Again, I know I'm biased, but actually she had a terrific game and showed what she's made of.
C
21:57Chris PaourosPANELIST
And I'm, you know, I want to see her sort of being first choice on that team sheet.
Scoring issues for Arsenal and Chelsea inflict a heavy defeat on Manchester United

Another Palace player I want to give a shout out to as well is Molly Bartrip.
R
7:14ReganHOST
She was really good.
R
7:15ReganHOST
I mean, I've just looked at the stats now from the game again, and she made 18 appearances, which is more than double of the next couple of players, which again, all of them after that were Palace players.

It was almost an open goal and she missed the target.
S
27:12Sam BiccarinoHOST
Uh, Molly Bartrip did make a goal line clearance as well at one point.
S
27:15Sam BiccarinoHOST
I think Marianna Cadente hit the bar trying to lob the keeper at one point as well.
S
27:19Sam BiccarinoHOST
So there were a few opportunities.
S
29:11Sam BiccarinoHOST
But they had the game plan to sit back, play out for a nil-nil, see if they could snatch a one nil, and if they can't, great, they come away with a draw, and that's exactly what they did.
S
29:18Sam BiccarinoHOST
So really well played.
S
29:20Sam BiccarinoHOST
Um, Pero Manjarin in goal got our, um, got in our team of the week as our keeper and so did Molly Bartrip, who I really want to give, um, some praise to as well.
S
29:28Sam BiccarinoHOST
She obviously had a goal line clearance, like I mentioned in there, but had a lot of defensive actions in there as well.

So we've lost some of those more experienced players and the ones who were really the face of the team, like Beth England, Ash Neville, Molly Bartrip.
C
14:05Caroline StefkoGUEST
So yeah, it can be tricky, I think, to get fans just the awareness of who's on the team, what skills they bring to the table.
C
14:17Caroline StefkoGUEST
And I think we're going to see that start to get better this season um mainly just based on the fact that we're playing such exciting football that it's kind of hard to deny at this point um and i think you're going to start to see maybe begrudgingly um but the you know the the big media outlets finally giving tottenham some credit and and some more airtime um or you know column inches as they say so We just need a visibility boost and I feel like it's on its way, but it's still coming.
London City punished, Arsenal draw a blank, as Chelsea and City push on

I think she just felt like she brought like a calmness and a confidence that when shots were coming in like she was going to hold on to them.
J

It's funny watching the Birmingham City Brighton game and like maybe the slight difference with Bagley who over the course of that game like started spilling shots and that's kind of how Brighton ended up getting back into that but like having someone who's just going to hold on to stuff be the player who like can calm stuff down I thought Molly Bartrip really marshalled the Palace defence really well yeah so I thought they they looked organised they they looked confident and I'm sure you know I know obviously there's all of the noise but I'm sure that win over Everton for those players will have been a confidence boost you know even if they lose those points you still know you've gone and played 90 minutes your first 90 minutes in in the league and you've won the game and I think then to be able to come and do this in a match where you know there is no expectation on you really um yeah I thought they did really they did really well but um I think from an Arsenal perspective It's a bit like the Chelsea game last week.
J
33:35Jessy Parker HumphreysGUEST
It is true to say that on any other day they do win that.

I think Rene Slagers' choice in terms of subs felt a little strange to me in terms of squad selection.
