But, like, I just wanna re-watch Iron-Blooded Orphans for the 70th time or, like, whatever.

So I- I think I got to a point to where I was like, I've watched enough anime to where I consider myself an anime fan.

Whereas if you were to watch, say, Gundam 00, it's basically the same, sort of the same plot as Gundam Wing, just better.

And if you watch, if you find Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, that's mostly your best route in because it's, It says a lot more about the horrors of war and child soldiers because it kind of has elements of it which are...

If you look at it, you go, oh, they're drawing inspiration from the horrors of war of sub-Saharan African-like battles and uprisings and so forth because...

Again, like I say, you've got kids that are being brutally modified so that they can then be put into battle suits to fight.

Morishita is one of those animators who never made the jump to series or even episode director, but he had a long career as an animation director, starting with two episodes of Victory Gundam in 1993 and as a key animator working through the outsourcing studio Anime R.

In the latter half of the '90s, he worked on The 08th MS Team as an animator, among many other shows, and then returned to mainline Gundam entries in the 2000s, directing animation for SEED, 00, Unicorn, Iron-Blooded Orphans, and Build Fighters.

The bulk of the key animation was outsourced to production studios Anime R, Studio Takuranke, and Gainax, which by this point was deep into pre-production for next year's Neon Genesis Evangelion.

They're like, "We don't even know what the fuck this is."
