King has taken over Microsoft Casual Games.
Analytic DreamzHOST
10:22
So if you don't know, King is Microsoft's mobile gaming division in the studio behind Candy Crush.
Analytic DreamzHOST
10:28
If you don't know, ladies and gentlemen, we covered Candy Crush not too long ago.
Analytic DreamzHOST
10:32
may 5th 2026 exactly as far as me covering the mobile sales and review roundup of candy crush specifically so when it comes to king safe to say they are ironically the king of mobile gaming retention if you don't know mobile games really make up majority of the gaming community and A lot of people who only care about consoles or PC, they don't know that mobile gaming is one of the main revenue drivers as far as the entire gaming industry because it's so accessible and the microtransaction aspect just being from your phone.
Analytic DreamzHOST
11:03
When you look at King taking over the Microsoft Mobile Gaming division, that is another positive aspect, in my opinion.
Analytic DreamzHOST
11:10
And King will assume responsibility for Microsoft Casual Games, which develops projects such as Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Sudoku, and Mahjong? Is that how you say it? Mahjong? What in the world? So, all the grandma games out there.
Analytic DreamzHOST
11:25
You know what I'm saying? I mean, all the respectable OG legacy games.

I'm Neil Long and every week I go for a walk and tell you what's happening in the mobile games business.

Here we go.
Neil LongHOST

The big story from the end of last week.
Neil LongHOST

checking the iOS version of the app.
Neil LongHOST
4:37
There doesn't seem to be any way of claiming that £5,000 or any mention of that incentive in the app itself.
Neil LongHOST
4:45
It's obviously incredibly grim and insensitive and... disgusting and it appears to be made in Claude or something similar because the UI of the whole app is very similar to some of the hobbyist apps and games that have been popping up on the app stores since things like Claude came to prominence and of course it follows on from the Trump MAGA games that appeared on the White House website which took popular mobile games like Snake and Flappy Bird and gave them far right themes.
Neil LongHOST
5:24
I guess Reform went one step further in that they got their app through app review on iOS and on Android and the game is now freely available on app stores.
Analytic DreamzHOST
18:27
But anyways, uh, it still supports my back, so you know, that's all that matters, as a, a 26-year-old man going on 80.
Analytic DreamzHOST
18:32
So [laughs] then after that, we talk about the gaming industry as How to Fish, Clash Royale is going crazy, so of course you know I'm putting a misrespect on the mobile gaming community, putting a misrespect on the stream, on the, uh, Steam community as far as How to Fish specifically.
Analytic DreamzHOST
18:51
And then, hold up now.
speaker_4GUEST
18:52
I know that ain't who I think it is.

Analytic DreamzHOST
80:21
All these games, by the way, we've talked about.
Analytic DreamzHOST
80:23
If we haven't talked about it, I will say I haven't covered it yet.
Analytic DreamzHOST
80:26
But because of their disrespect upon the mobile gaming community, you know what I'm saying?
DruskiSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER

Give 'em some praise.

Aaron AstleHOST

Otherwise, the rest of the top 10.
Aaron AstleHOST
22:32
The games moved around a bit, but it was the same games from July that stayed in.
Aaron AstleHOST
22:38
And collectively mobile games, all mobile games between the two major stores generated 6.8 billion in August.
Aaron AstleHOST
22:46
So that was down 6% year over year, but it was a 1% increase over July.
Aaron AstleHOST
22:52
Then on the kind of download side of things, Level Infinite released Gangster Mirage City Online in the EU, LATAM, MENA, like Southeast Asia.
