Mo'orea

For absolute scenic beauty that overloads the senses, French Polynesia.

The five island groups of French Polynesia, the Marquesas, Tahiti, Mo'orea, Bora Bora, the Australs, the Gambier Islands.

It takes my breath away to be in French Polynesia.

Where I was earlier this group, what was it? April? I think it was April or May.

You know, the guests have a, a opportunity to experience the highlights of all the islands of where we go to.

Uh, in Tahiti we will start, uh, from Papeete, and then we would go to Moorea, uh, Raiatea, Tahaa, of course Bora Bora, and Huahine.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, we offer, uh, three different, uh, uh, types of itineraries.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, well, everyone have their favorite i- island.

My favorite one is, uh, Moorea.

Mm-hmm.

Oh, gosh.

I'm gonna be annoying and say Moorea, because I'm sure that's, like, the same answer for anyone that's been to French Polynesia.

Just total comfort.

But when you book Nuku Hiva instead of, say, Bora Bora or Moorea, what you are actually handed are the keys to a mud-splattered heavy-duty four-by-four off-roader.

And the core tension we are exploring today is that people are buying the four-by-four, paying an astronomical premium for it, and then throwing a tantrum in the dealership lot when they realize it doesn't have a built-in champagne cooler.

That is a highly accurate framing.

That was a great time.

Then we went over to Tahiti and spent a couple t- uh, I spent a week at a crack over in Moorea.

Mm.

Friends would come to visit and you'd just anchor there.

It's beautiful.

Yeah, Moorea, I, that was probably, I mean, gosh, there's so many nice island- I like, I really like Moorea, 'cause it's, it's maybe a slower pace than up, you go up into, like, Bora Bora and all that.

It's a little less touristy, but it's still nice.

Right.

Steven Damian is one of the regional development coordinators for the sport and says next week's event will be a dress rehearsal for next year's Pacific Games.

The area that we are competing in, uh, it's on the island of Moorea.

Uh, it's also a tourist island, so we try as much as possible to not, uh, have a lot of impact on the business around there as well.

The purpose of, uh, the event also, it's, it's also the, the World Triathlon Development Regional Cup.
